About This Image Compressor

Smaller Files, Same Look

Re-encode JPEG, PNG and WebP images at the quality level you choose. Trim file size for faster websites, email attachments and uploads while keeping the picture sharp.

Batch Compression

Drop several images at once and compress them in one pass. Each result shows the original size, the new size, and the exact percentage saved.

Fully In-Browser

Compression uses the HTML Canvas API right in your browser. There is no server, no queue and no size limit beyond your device's memory.

Completely Private

Your images never leave your browser. Nothing is uploaded, so it is safe for personal photos and confidential material, and it works offline once loaded.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are my images uploaded to a server?

No. All compression runs locally in your browser using the HTML Canvas API. Your images never leave your device, nothing is uploaded, and the tool keeps working offline once the page has loaded. This makes it safe for private photos and confidential documents.

Which image formats can I compress?

You can compress JPEG, PNG and WebP images. By default the compressor re-encodes to JPEG for the best size reduction, but you can keep the original format or output WebP if you prefer. Drop or select several images at once for batch compression.

How does the quality slider work?

The quality slider (0–100, default 80) controls the encoder's compression level. Lower values create smaller files with more visible artifacts; higher values keep more detail but save less space. Around 70–85 usually gives a good balance.

Will compressing reduce the image dimensions?

No. Compression keeps the original width and height and only reduces file size by re-encoding. If you also want to change dimensions, use our Image Resizer tool.

How much smaller will my files get?

It depends on the original image and quality setting. Photos often shrink by 40–80% at quality 80 with little visible difference. The tool shows the before and after size and percentage saved for every image.

This image compressor processes everything locally in your browser — your files are never uploaded to any server. Results depend on the original image content and chosen quality level.
